The piece below is an 8.5" x 8.5" oil and graphite on Mylar. This is a new surface to work on for me and has revealed some intriguing results. The mylar is slippery with the oil and tends to require finesse when moving the paint around. What I think is unique about this approach is the closeness to painting but firmly maintains a rougher edge to it, aligning it with the gouache studies. It seems to be placed firmly in between the two, which is exciting.
Till next time.
